The numbers relating to m&a and IPOs in the world and in Europe these days do not show great excitement, on the contrary. It is clearly seen, for example, in the latest reports by Morgan Stanley, PwC and Reinitiv (see here a previous article by BeBeez). However, private equity investors seem to hold out and in Italy in particular, although there are no mega-deals, operators continue to pile up new deals.
In the last two weeks alone, BeBeez Private Data has recorded 21 deals, which are to be added to the 242 deals calculated year-to-date at mid-October, considering both purchase and sale transactions involving private equity investrors in the broad sense and therefore not only traditional private equity funds, but also investment holdings, club deals and SPACs. The figure compares with the 119 transactions counted in the first half of the year and with the 198 operations that involved Italian companies in 2018 (BeBeez News Premium readers can download the latest BeBeez Report on Private equity here, find out here how to subscribe for only 20 euros per month).
