There were around €57.4 billion of gross impaired loans on the balance sheets of the top six Italian banking groups (now considering UBI Banca integrated into Intesa Sanpaolo) at the end of June 2021, still down from €61.5 billion at the end of March (see other Insight View of BeBeez), when there had been a further decline from €65 billion at the end of December 2020 (see other Insight View of BeBeez) and a sharp drop from €85.3 billion at the end of September 2020. All this, then, with NPE ratio of 4.64% from less than 5% at the end of March.
