TOLEDO, Ohio–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Owens Corning (NYSE: OC) announced that it has completed the acquisition of WearDeck\u00ae, a premium composite decking and structural lumber manufacturer based in Ocala, Florida.\n<\/p>\n

\n\u201cAs we begin integrating WearDeck into Owens Corning, I\u2019m excited about the opportunities in front of us,\u201d said Composites President Marcio Sandri. \u201cWearDeck solutions will advance our growth strategy and help pivot our Composites business to focus on high-value material solutions within the building and construction space.\u201d\n<\/p>\n

\nOwens Corning expects to significantly grow this business in the coming years and contribute to the company\u2019s target of achieving $10 billion in revenue by 2024. Owens Corning estimates the North American decking market to be more than $7 billion and to grow at about 5% per year. Composite decking products capture over 30% of the market, a share that is expected to increase in the coming years.\n<\/p>\n

\nWearDeck products offer a long-lasting, strong, and durable solution for weather-resistant decking and structural lumber, used for both commercial and residential applications. Using proprietary technology and processes, WearDeck products are manufactured from high-density polyethylene (HDPE) leveraging Owens Corning\u2019s glass fiber technology, delivering a high-performance product that is stronger than most other decking options.\n<\/p>\n
